Ingredients
Scale
1 cup milk
3 cups blackberries (fresh or frozen)
½ cup melted butter
1½ cups sugar
½ tsp vanilla
1 cup self-rising flour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Pour the melted butter into a baking dish, making sure to spread it evenly.
- Carefully pour the batter mixture over the melted butter—do not stir! The butter will rise to the top during baking.
- Gently sprinkle the blackberries over the batter, distributing them evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the cobbler turns a beautiful golden brown and the edges bubble enticingly.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm, ideally topped with a scoop of ice cream, and watch it vanish!
Notes
Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. You can use fresh or frozen blackberries depending on availability.
