Ingredients
Scale
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup caramel sauce
Pinch of salt
1/4 teaspoon sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish to prevent sticking.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter until well combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie dish. Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes, until it is lightly golden. Once done, remove it from the oven and let it cool.
- Melt the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips together in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, large eggs, and vanilla extract until fully combined. Slowly incorporate the melted chocolate mixture, stirring until blended.
- Sift the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, pinch of salt, and baking powder into the brownie mixture. Stir gently until just combined.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the cooled pie crust, spreading it evenly. Drizzle the caramel sauce over this layer. Sprinkle sea salt on top for an extra flavor boost, then pour the remaining brownie batter on top, spreading it to cover.
- Bake the pie for 25-30 minutes until the brownie layer is set but fudgy in the center.
- Allow the pie to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or an extra drizzle of caramel sauce.
Notes
For a richer flavor, try using homemade caramel sauce.
